Permits

City, county, state, and federaloffices typically require permits to film on publicly owned properties,including but not limited to roads, sidewalks, government buildings, and parks.Please contact the PuertoRico Film Commission for more information on obtaining thenecessary permits for your production.

Liaison Services

If you are interested in filming onstate-owned and operated properties, the PuertoRico Film Commission can help facilitate your filming requestto the appropriate state agencies.

We receive requests from media industry professionals seeking a wide range oflocations such as: farms, residences, small towns,courthouses, parks, dance halls, restaurants, and small businesses toname a few. If you own or manage a property in Puerto Rico that you would liketo be considered as a production location, we invite you to submit yourproperty for inclusion in our locations database.PageContents

Before uploading your photos, please reviewthe photo requirements below. To see examples of the types of photos to submit, check out thesesample galleries for houses, businesses, and downtowns.

PHOTO REQUIREMENTS & TIPS

• Each submission must include aminimum of 3 different pictures of the location's interior and exterior to beconsidered for inclusion. However, we encourage many more, so you may submit upto 20 photos.
[DCG1] [FL2] •Filmmakers like to see the ‘big picture,’ so think wide-angle and panoramic shots.Landscape-oriented shots are better than portrait-oriented shots. We cannotaccept close-up shots or those that focus on people, animals, or events.

•Include photos of all structures on your property to showcase everything thelocation has to offer. Include multiple shots of interiors and exteriors andunique features of the property even if they aren’t "aesthetically pleasing." It could be exactly what aproduction is searching for!

• Try to include at least one shot ofeach interior room. It may be helpful to stand in the corner of a room with thelens adjusted to the widest angle setting or using the panorama feature on asmartphone.
• Take photos during the day for the best lighting. When photographinginteriors, turn on lights and open curtains to help brighten up photos. Dark,out-of-focus, or outdated photos cannot be accepted.
• We cannot accept low-resolution (thumbnail) photos or "photos ofphotos." Modern smartphone photo resolution is more than acceptable.
• Do not overlay any digital watermark or include filters/effects that distortthe picture. If you would like to include a photo credit, please do so in theassigned text box when submitting. Screenshots of Google Maps or similarservices may not be used.

• If you have multiple locations tosubmit, each property/address must be submitted individually.

• Use a laptop or desktop-based browsersuch as Safari, Edge, Firefox, or Chrome updated tothe latest version when uploading photos, as using a tablet or phone can leadto errors.

• We cannot accept thumb drives, videofiles, or hard copy photographs/negatives.

Submit Your Property for Film Application

If you own or manage a propertyin Puerto Rico that you would like to have listed with the Puerto Rico Film Commission,please complete the fields below and upload your high-resolution images in JPEG format. Once reviewed and approved,your photos will be added to our secure locations database and made availablefor viewing by media industry professionals seeking Puerto Rico locations fortheir projects on a case-by-case basis. Our internal locations database is powered by TEXScout, whichalso has a public-facing website called LocationsHub.This allows the general public to view locations in our Puerto Rico LocationsGallery at their leisure, greatly increasing the chances of your property beingseen by production personnel.

By default, locations arelisted in both databases to maximize the chances of being contacted by aproduction. However, if you prefer to list your property only in our internaldatabase, please make a note in the 'Usage Restriction' field, and we’ll be happyto accommodate. There is no cost associated with listing your property.
